About Georgie

Hi! I’m Georgie. Right now I’m hanging out with my foster mom. She works from home, which is perfect for my lifestyle—because I’m kind of a professional napper. You can usually find me snoozing on the couch, the floor, or my dog bed. I’m so quiet that sometimes she forgets I’m even in the room (I take that as a compliment—I’m a very good boy).

We stick to a pretty great routine: four walks a day—morning, lunch, afternoon, and night. Each one is about 30 minutes, and I have my preferred spots.

Good news: I’m fully house trained, so I’ve had zero accidents. I’m also pretty solid on the leash. Sometimes, when I see another pup, I get super excited and might bark—it’s not bad manners, I promise! I just really want to say hello and make friends. Speaking of friends... I love humans. All of them. No stranger danger over here.

I’ll be honest—since moving from my old home, I’ve gotten a little attached to my foster mom. When she leaves, I miss her, especially during those first 10 minutes. But if I’ve got a bully stick or something fun to keep me busy, I settle down pretty quickly. I think once I find my forever home, I’ll feel even more secure and grow out of that.

Anyway… I think we’d get along really well. Want to come meet me?

Georgie is approximately 3y 9m 24d old and is fully grown at 45 pounds. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done.

Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog.

Mixed / Unknown breed temperament

Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed. The rescue's write-up is the best guide.

Exercise

Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.

In a NYC apartment

Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
