About Ozzie

Ozzie, an 8-year-old, 17-pound male Shih Tzu / Aussie Shepherd mix, is literally a living muppet. He has adjusted well to city life after hopping onto a van from Alabama. He just wants to be your best friend and look deeply into your eyes from his heterochromic ones.

He is a big boned boy with the body of a Shih Tzu but characteristics and personality of an Aussie. He gets the zoomies that belie his age and plays fetch for about 5 minutes before he remembers he’s a Shih Tzu and needs to rest. He loves using a soft mouth to tell you what he wants and needs - like an Aussie shepherd directing sheep.

He enjoys cuddles, loves a belly rub and would probably climb into your skin if he could. He loves playing with toys and is incredibly food / treat motivated. He has the cutest little underbite and the most expressive human-like eyes.

He would do well in a home with another dog or solo. He is also cat tested and approved. He had entropian surgery on his left brown eye and will need continued optimmune eye ointment. Ozzie is in great health, and recently had a dental/neutered. While his hormones are still normalizing, he has the propensity to mark, so he comfortably wears a belly band indoors. Otherwise, he is house-trained.

Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Negative for heartworm disease and current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

To apply for Ozzie, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.

Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue.
