Meet Sparkler! ✨
Sparkler is a 9-year-old, 10-pound Chihuahua mix who made his way to NYC from Alabama, and he's settled into city life like a total pro.
If you're looking for the definition of an easy dog, Sparkler might just be your guy. This sweet senior has been an absolute dream in foster care. He's fully house-trained, walks beautifully on leash, isn't fazed by busy city streets, sleeps soundly through the night without a peep, is comfortable in a crate, and takes baths like a champ. Even better? He's wonderfully polite around both dogs and cats.
At home, Sparkler is happiest curled up beside his people on the couch or quietly trailing behind them like the cutest little shadow. While toys aren't really his thing, don't let his age fool you, he still has plenty of pep! He does an adorable little happy-foot pitter-patter when he's excited and will even surprise you with the occasional zoomies.
Sparkler is the kind of dog who could fit into just about any home. He's been incredibly respectful of the resident cats in his foster home, and his calm, easygoing personality makes us think he'd be happy with a laid-back family looking for a snuggle buddy. That said, he's so confident and unbothered by the world around him that we also think he'd do wonderfully in a busier household or one with respectful kids.
If you're looking for a low-maintenance best friend with a heart of gold, Sparkler is ready to light up your life. 💛
Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Negative for heartworm disease and current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

Bold and deeply bonded to one or two people. Chihuahuas are often wary of strangers and can be snappy if they were never taught that hands are safe — early gentle socialization matters.
Low — short walks and indoor play are plenty.
Extremely apartment-friendly and easy to carry on the subway. They get cold fast and need a sweater most of the winter.
